Alekseyev in the stairwell and opened fire at close range.
The attacker fired three shots, striking the general in his arm, leg, and chest. Despite
serious injuries, Alekseyev attempted to resist and tried to seize the weapon. During the struggle, he suffered
additional wounds before the assailant fled.
Investigators recovered a Makarov pistol fitted with a silencer at the scene. Emergency
services transported Alekseyev to hospital, where surgeons operated on him. Medical officials later confirmed that
he had regained consciousness and was no longer in immediate danger.
Identification and Capture of the Primary Suspect
Russian investigators identified the main suspect as Lyubomir Korba, a Ukrainian-born
Russian citizen in his mid-sixties. He originated from Ukraine’s Ternopil region. According to the Investigative

after the shooting, he boarded a flight to Dubai. UAE authorities detained him upon arrival following coordination
